Indicators Discussion: Initial: People who live in neighborhoods with increased prevalence of violence and other social problems tend to experience increased isolation. The Neighborhood Advocacy Movement (NAM) provides opportunities for residents to explore collaborative relationships and problem solving successes with their neighbors.
Intermediate: A geographically defined “neighborhood” will have challenges that related to specific people, street flow, building status, and other neighborhood dynamic factors. NAM provides opportunities for residents to take ownership of the neighborhood’s issues and solutions.
Long-Term: Community space is claimed by improving the neighborhood’s environment in specific ways ant the the same time enhancing the ways in which the neighbors relate with one another. NAM provides ongoing activities that support progress in both the environment and the quality of relationships among the neighbors.
