Cobblestone Place

The new Cobblestone Place Apartments are located at the gateway to Davenport’s West End.  The new building is within one mile of  Marquette Park Recreation, the Quad City Sports Center, grocery store and a hospital.. The facility will feature one, two and three bedroom units and seven single room occupancy units.  Each unit will be wired for current technological capacities.  Community space will feature a full-service kitchen, meeting area for social gatherings, and an outdoor play area..

The Cobblestone Place will also serve as a Human Service Campus, and will offer office space for John Lewis Community Services staff, Quad Cities Re-building Together,  Urban Indian Tribal Organization, and Covenant Financial Services.  Bethany Family Services offices are housed next door.

The original brick, 30,600 square foot Friendly House was designed by affiliates of Schultz, Gowey, Gere, & Marolf Architects in the early 1920’s.  In keeping with this heritage, John Gere, AIA of the same firm has created the new apartment design and layout, and also the new 7000 square foot building addition. The Construction Management Company is Russell Construction lead by Tom Fennelly, Bryan Zarn, and Dave Swanson. Construction of Cobblestone Place is scheduled to be complete in January 2005.
